Transform Your Miniature Bathroom Into Spa

The spaces in your home may be expertly designed but they are not all crafted equally. In most homes, the bathroom tends to be the most confined space even when a lot of square footage is available. Just because you have a small bathroom doesn’t mean you can’t transform it into a spa-style retreat. Andre Kitchen and Bath has a few ideas to help you transform your small bathroom into an in-home retreat affordably.

Avoid the Floor

Making sure nothing is on the floor will give your bathroom the appearance of enjoying more space. When there is a limited amount of floor space, prioritize your wall for storage and decoration. Add hanging vanities, shelves, and even your toilet to allow more light and space in your bathroom.

Head Space

You can further create the illusion of space by leaving certain areas unused. Leaving the walls and counters that fall between the height of your head and waist open will make the room feel considerably larger than it really is.

Don’t be Oversaturated

Skip colors that are oversaturated and opt for reflective materials and pastels instead. This will bring more light into the room which will make the space feel larger. If you are really short on space, turn the entire bathroom into a shower with a corner toilet and sink. Also, feel free to combine things whenever possible instead of installing separate features.

Add Lighting to Your Vanity

Lighting can change the whole mood of the space. Choose a vanity mirror that has lighting onboard to help reflect light around the room and make you feel awake and refreshed. If there is a skylight in the room, the natural light will also help make the space feel larger. If your bathroom faces the sun in the daytime, consider including a fogged window with a floating mirror to add a pleasant aesthetic touch while increasing the natural light.

Tricky Outlets

The outlets in your bathroom should be placed in easy to access areas where they will actually be used. To save space, considering placing outlet strips inside of your vanity or under the edge of your counters to keep your space neat and clean.

Have a Toilet Room

If you are in the mood to renovate and have a bit of space available, consider including a spare room for the toilet. Not only will this add value to your home, but it will also increase the amount of private bathroom space you have in your home.

Get a Big Shower

A nice bubble bath is a great way to relax but if you have a smaller bathroom then a super luxurious shower is a better option. Opt for a luxe massage showerhead or even a rainwater shower head to make the most of your space. You can even add seating in your shower and make it double as a sauna with a built in steam machine.

Smart Heating

Nothing is worse than walking across an ice-cold floor in the winter. Installing heated flooring is a great way to add a spa-like feel to your bathroom for less. You can also consider adding a tankless water heater in your bathroom to ensure you never run out of hot water.
