Kitchen Storage Renovation Ideas

There are a lot of things you can get out of a kitchen renovation. This can include adding better waste management to storing your appliances. There is a lot that can be done and needs to be considered in order to find the best and most practical solutions. Our team at Andre Kitchen & Bath want to go over a few things you can do that will make your kitchen more functional.

Storage Ideas

Small Appliance Storage

You probably have things like a toaster, kettle, slow cooker, coffee maker, mixer, etc., in your kitchen. Some of which you may use on a daily basis. But leaving them on your counter is not aesthetically pleasing, makes it cluttered, and has less room for food prep. But putting them deep in a cupboard isn’t ideal either and can make things more difficult. One solution for this is to install an appliance “garage”, equipped with lifting doors or roll-up ones.

Vertical Drawers

Not all drawers have to be horizontal, building them vertical is a great way to save on space. Most kitchens have a lot of horizontal drawers, which takes up a lot of room. Utilize dividers inside these tall drawers in order to keep things like shallow baking supplies and cutting boards organized.

Vertical Sliding Drawers

To make things even easier on yourself, consider installing sliding drawers in your pantry, especially if you do not have a walk-in pantry. Easily pull out and have easy access to the items you need, such as chips, dry food items, cereals, and more.

Deep Storage

These are usually used for things like utensils and cutlery. You can make these drawers to any size you want in order to properly accommodate the items in your kitchen, making them the most versatile. Additionally, these are great replacements for your traditional lower cupboards.

Corner Cabinets

For kitchens that are L or U shaped, you should strongly consider installing corner cabinets in order to maximize the space efficiently. This is a great place for storing accessories and random items like scissors, oven mitts, and more. You can also insert dividers for added organization.

Horizontal Drawers

Enhance the functionality of your kitchen with these horizontal drawers:

-English drawers help to maximize usable space. The idea is that you have a deep drawer that has one or more pull-out drawers inside it to better organize utensils and cutlery.

-Install adjustable wooden pegs in order to stack things like plates and bowls.

-Get specific pot storage drawers with a top drawer for housing the lids.

-take a large drawer and segment it into different compartments or use storage boxes to easily access your things.
